Raymond R. Coffey's numerous columns about the Cook County Board of (Tax) Review shed clear light on an agency that has been operating out of the public's eye for too long.

If you don't need a lawyer to appeal your taxes at the assessor's office, it seems foolish that you'd need one to appeal your tax assessment at an agency that serves the public in the same way.

I am very glad that Coffey exposes what appears to be the good-old-boys network. Isn't there any ethical code forbidding tax practitioners from contributing to the very tax commissioners they seek reductions from? If not, there should be. CFAT News Source news@fairtaxes.net Well Greased System
