In the 2003 triennial Chicago's Lake View Township had a 49.5% increase in average assessments, the highest in the city, followed by 46.6% in North Township. The South Township had an 35.2% increase in property assessments, the city's lowest. These are residential (single family to 6 unit apts. and mixed used buildings of 6 units or less containing a one or more storefronts with apartments.

The assessor's staff says 168,065 homeowners will pay up to 10% more in taxes; 114,962 will 10% to 20% more; 55,570 will pay 20% to 30% more; 34, 866 will pay 30% to 40% more; 20,762 will pay 40% to 50% more; and 31,268 will pay at least 50% more.
